Construction NPDES Stormwater Information
Effective Aug. 3, 2011
All development projects in North Carolina that disturb an acre or greater of land require a local- or state-approved Erosion and Sedimentation Control (E&SC) plan. The project will be automatically covered by an NPDES Stormwater General Permit NCG010000 for construction-related activities, provided that the ground stabilization and basin design requirements in that permit are included in the E&SC Plan.

All projects that have submitted plans for an E&SC permit on or after Aug. 3, 2011* will be covered by the new Construction NPDES Stormwater General Permit.
