Wetlands and Stormwater BranchWelcome to the Wetlands and Stormwater Branch. The Branch is comprised of four units: Wetlands, Buffers, Stormwater - Compliance and Permitting UnitThis Unit is responsible for implementing the state waters, wetlands and riparian buffer regulatory programs and assisting with compliance and enforcement procedures. Stormwater Permitting UnitThis Unit administers state stormwater management programs, the federal NPDES stormwater management program, and provides oversight of the Water Supply Watershed Protection Program. Transportation Permitting UnitThis Unit assists the NC DOT with the planning and permitting of their projects. It also houses two special projects: the Headwater Stream Spatial Dataset program and the Watershed Assessment Team (WAT). Program Development UnitThis Unit develops procedures, policies and rules for the Division's wetland, stream and buffer permitting programs.
