G.S. 150B-20 allows a person to petition an agency to create or amend a rule by submitting to the agency a written rulemaking petition requesting the adoption
PURPOSE OF RULE REVISION
The purpose of revising the rule is to reduce the administrative cost associated with the submittal of a rulemaking petition. The proposed change would require an electronic or digital submittal of a rulemaking petition, which is already standard practice, and would remove the requirement to submit twenty paper copies of the petition when the whole petition exceeds ten pages in length.
The public comment period on the proposed rule amendment will begin on May 1, 2012, and will end on July 2, 2012. Written comments may be submitted at any time during the public comment period. Written comments should be sent to:
