Lower Creek WatershedLower Creek Restoration Project SummaryLower Creek is a 99 square mile subwatershed in the northeast portion of the Lake Rhodhiss watershed. The creek is not supporting its uses for biological integrity and turbidity. Recent sampling has also indicated fecal coliform water quality standard violations. A TMDL was completed for Lower Creek in 2005 and the Ecosystem Enhancement Program (EEP) has conducted a watershed assessment and has also prepared a management plan. With that strong foundation, EEP is leading the Lower Creek Advisory Team with the mission to “restore and protect Lower Creek and its tributaries, while increasing public awareness of local water quality issues.” Team partners include federal, state, and local partners as well as others. This base of support for water quality improvement is partially demonstrated by the fact that there have been several implementation projects in the watershed. EEP Lower Creek Local Watershed Plan
