WHAT: The Environmental Management Commission (EMC) and the Division of Water (DWQ) are in the process of developing a plan that lays out steps for establishing water quality standards, or criteria, to control nutrient pollution in lakes, streams and estuaries. Information is being gathered from a variety of sources including a two-day May 2012 Forum on nutrient over-enrichment of surface waters sponsored by the EMC. Three public information/input sessions are being offered on December 4th, 12th and 17th. Each session will provide background information and allow for questions and comments.
