Interested parties are invited to comment on these three documents by June 11, 2012. The Draft NC Mercury TMDL was developed to meet requirements of Section 303(d) of the Federal Water Pollution Control Act. It is subject to approval by EPA. The other two documents provide supplemental information on how the approved NC Mercury TMDL will be implemented. They are not subject to approval by EPA and will not be included in the TMDL package that will be submitted to EPA.
We invite comments on how to improve the clarity of the Draft NC Mercury TMDL, as well as questions and feedback on the draft wastewater permitting strategy and reduction options for nonpoint sources. The documents may be modified based on the comments received. Comments and responses on the Draft NC Mercury TMDL will be included in the TMDL package to be submitted to EPA.
