Name: Proposed Water Supply Reclassification of Neuse River and Quarry

WHAT: At the request of Johnston County officials, two segments of the Neuse River and an abandoned quarry have been proposed for reclassification as Class Water Supply-IV and Class Water Supply-IV Critical Area. The quarry is located about two miles north of Princeton, NC, along the western bank of the Little River. The Critical Area for the proposed riverine intake is to be located from the crossing at Richardson Bridge Road (SR 1201) to a point about one-half mile upstream. WHEN: The public hearing to gather comment on the proposed reclassification will be held Tuesday, Dec. 13, 2011 at 7 p.m. WHERE: The public hearing will be held in the Princeton Town Hall meeting room, 503 Doctor Donnie H. Jones Jr. Boulevard West, Princeton, NC 27569.
