Regional Laboratory

The WSS regional laboratory is located in the Asheville Regional Office, and is part of the WSS Microbiology and Inorganic Chemistry Branch. The primary function of this regional lab is to analyze time-critical analyses and conventional parameters from samples collected in counties located with the Asheville Region. The parameters analyzed by the lab are detailed below.

Alkalinity  Resdiue: Volatile/Fixed, Total
Bicarbonate  Residue: Suspended (Suspended Solids)
Carbonate  Residue: Volatile/Fixed, Suspended
Biochemical Oxygen Demand, 5-day (BOD)  Specific Conductance
Carbonaceous BOD (cBOD)  Turbidity
Fecal Colfirm bacteria  Total Colfirm bacteria
