Name: Public Meeting on Draft Wastewater Irrigation Permit Modification for UNC-CH Bingham Facility

WHAT: The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill has applied for a modification to their wastewater treatment and irrigation permit WQ0023896. The Bingham Facility is a biomedical animal research center. The wastewater treatment system is for domestic waste only and secondary treated effluent is spray irrigated. The treatment system will not treat animal waste, save for wash-down water. The DENR Division of Water Quality Director has determined that it is in the public interest to receive all pertinent public comments on whether to issue, revise or deny the draft permit modification. WHEN and WHERE: The public meeting is scheduled for August 22, 2012 at 7 p.m.; registration will begin at 6:30 p.m. It will be held at the White Cross Recreation Center, 1800 White Cross Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27516. Oral and written comments are welcome.
