The Division has made an attempt to post notices in the following newspaper(s): Carteret County News-Times Topsail Voice The North Carolina Department of Transportation has applied to renew NPDES permit NC0077500 for its Ferry Division Water Treatment Plant at Cedar Island in Carteret County. This permitted facility discharges reverse osmosis reject water and filter backwash water to Cedar Island Bay within the Neuse River Basin. Currently, total residual chlorine (TRC) and Total Suspended Solids (TSS) are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future wasteload allocations in this portion of the watershed.
