The Division has made an attempt to post notices in the following newspaper(s): News and Observer Smithfield Herald Johnston County (P.O. Box 2263, Smithfield, NC 27577) has applied for renewal of NPDES permit NC0084735 for the Johnston County WTP. This permitted facility discharges treated filter-backwash to an unnamed tributary to the Neuse River in the Neuse River Basin. Currently total residual chlorine, total manganese, and fluoride are water quality limited. This discharge may affect future allocations in this portion of the Neuse River.
