Dry Litter Poultry Requirements

Poultry operations in North Carolina that use dry waste systems (dry litter poultry operations) are not required to obtain permits from DWR.  However, there are some requirements for these operations in General Statute and the Administrative Code.  Links to this information are located below, along with two summary documents that have been prepared to aid in compliance with the rules.  Questions related to this information can be directed to the Animal Feeding Operations Unit at (919) 807-6464.
