Lake Wheeler Road Monitoring and Research Station

Wake County, NC

The Lake Wheeler Road Monitoring and Research Station lies within the Raleigh Geologic Belt and is underlain by a metamorphosed felsic gneiss.  This site was selected for study to evaluate the effects of fesic gneiss rock type and steeply dipping foliation on groundwater quality.
