The Technical Assistance & Certification Unit is the administrative arm for the NC Water Pollution Control System Operators Certification Commission (WPCSOCC). Staff consists of a supervisor, three technical specialists and three administrative support personnel. 

The unit is responsible for oversight of all activities related to wastewater operator certification and training including approval and auditing of basic and continuing education classes, curriculum review and development, certification exam development, proctoring and processing, annual operator renewal cycles, and assisting with operator disciplinary actions.
