DWQ Intra Division Employee Activity (IDEA) Program
What is it?
The Intra Division Employee Activity (IDEA) program takes employees away from their desks and into other units within DWQ in order to gain a better understanding of the different roles within the division and to develop contacts that will be useful in their work and careers. It is particularly beneficial to you as a new employees because it helps you learn how different parts of the organization fit together. During your first six months with us, you are encouraged to participate and will help develop your own activities. Each new employee is to complete at least two days of activties.
The goal of this training program is not only to increase your performance and effectiveness as a new employee, but also to support opportunities to gain skills, knowledge, and abilities that promote career development and advancement within the Division. To make these activities the most beneficial to you, you should discuss career interests with your supervisor.
What sorts of things could I be doing?
This is an exciting opportunity for all new employees! Possibilities for a variety of exposure across DWQ abound. You could experience anything from field work with a regional office to learning about how water quality standards are developed...
