Pursuant to various tank equipment manufacturers’ requests, The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) – Underground Storage Tank (UST) Section has reviewed and approved the following requests for kits to repair defective spill buckets without having to replace them with double-walled spill buckets meeting the requirements of 15A NCAC 02N.0900.
The North Carolina Department of Environmental Quality (NCDEQ) – Underground Storage Tank (UST) Section has been made aware that there are companies remanufacturing leak detection equipment for use with UST systems. During the remanufacturing process it is possible that components are replaced that would make the original third party certification obtained by the original manufacturer invalid. Therefore, the equipment would no longer meet the requirements listed in federal regulation 40 CFR 280.45(a) (as incorporated by 15A NCAC 2N .0506) and as described in 40 CFR 280.40(a)(3) (as incorporated by 15A NCAC 02N .0501). The following table lists the companies that have remanufactured leak detection equipment approved for use in North Carolina. More information can be found in the Remanufactured Underground Storage Tank Leak Detection Equipment memo.
