Electronics Management Program

Session Law 2010-67 established an electronics recycling program for the State of North Carolina with shared responsibility between manufacturers, retailers, local and state government, and consumers. Local and State Government agencies may only purchase computer equipment and televisions from manufacturers who are in compliance with the law.

Televisions, computers, monitors, printers, scanners, and computer peripherals such as keyboards and mice are banned from disposal in landfills!   74 Local Governments with Approved Electronics Recycling Plans received funding for their electronics programs:  Electronics Management Fund Distributions February 2012

Questions about the North Carolina electronics recycling program and requirements may be addressed to Ellen Lorscheider (919-707-8245).
