Welcome to the 2010 District Employees Workshop website...
The Division of Soil and Water Conservation, in conjunction with the Conservation Partnership, is proud to be the coordinating agency for the 2010 District Employees Workshop (DEW), "Today's Seeds - Tomorrow's Leaders", August 16-19 at the Waynesville Inn in Waynesville, NC.
The 2010 DEW is the only statewide workshop of its kind to provide conservation district employees with in depth training on the technical and administrative aspects of:
- Agriculture Best Management Practices
- Community Conservation Assistance Program
- District Law & Operations
- Environmental Education
- Sustainable Energy & Working Lands Preservation
More importantly, DEW provides a networking platform for district employees to share information, openly discuss issues and concerns, develop professional relationships, identify leaders and mentors, and collectively focus efforts to enhance the delivery of district services to put conservation on the landscape of North Carolina.
I thank the Soil & Water Conservation Districts for their continued support of this important training. "Today's Seeds - Tomorrow's Leaders" will help grow the capacity of conservation districts as our staff reaches a new level of development.
Pat Harris, Director, North Carolina Division of Soil and Water Conservation
