PROCLAMATION
RE: SHELLFISH POLLUTED AREA
Dr. Louis B. Daniel III, Director, Division of Marine Fisheries, upon the recommendation of Jeffrey P. Engel, M.D., State Health Director, Department of Health and Human Services, hereby announces that the following area in Brunswick County will open to shellfish harvesting on a temporary basis beginning at sunrise, Thursday, December 22, 2011.
BRUNSWICK COUNTY
Jinks Creek Area- All those waters in Jinks Creek bounded on the north by a straight line beginning at a point on the north shore at 33º 52.8453' N -78º 29.9304' W; running southwesterly to a point on the south shore at 33º 52.7908' N -78º 29.9624' W and bounded on the south by a straight line beginning at a point on the west shore at 33º 52.6729' N -78º 29.6735' W; running northeasterly in a straight line to a point on the east shore at 33º 52.7393' N -78º 29.6339' W (see map).
GENERAL INFORMATION:
A. This proclamation is issued under the authority of N.C.G.S. 113-170.4; 113-170.5; 113-182; 113-221.1; 143B-289.52 and N.C. Marine Fisheries Rules 15A NCAC 03H .0103 and 03K .0101.
B. It is unlawful to violate the provisions of any proclamation issued by the N.C. Fisheries Director under his delegated authority pursuant to N.C. Marine Fisheries Rule 15A NCAC 03H .0103.
C. This proclamation temporarily opens a portion of Jinks Creek in Brunswick County.
D. This temporary opening is due to satisfactory bacteriological sampling results of both water and shellfish meats.
