PROCLAMATION

RE: 2012 SHRIMPING AND CRAB TRAWLING

Dr. Louis B. Daniel III, Director, Division of Marine Fisheries, hereby announces that the following areas WILL OPEN to shrimping and crab trawling effective at 8:00 A.M., Wednesday, September 12, 2012.

I. AREA DESCRIPTION

ONSLOW COUNTY

Intracoastal Waterway (IWW) – main IWW channel only from the N.C. Highway 210 high rise bridge to Marker “17” north of Alligator Bay and from Marker “45” to Marker ”49”; the IWW channel and 100 feet on either side from Marker “49” at Morris Landing to the Highway 210-50 Bridge at Surf City.

II. GENERAL INFORMATION:

A. This proclamation is issued under the authority of N.C.G.S. 113-170.4; 113-170.5; 113-182; 113-221.1; 143B-289.52 and N.C. Marine Fisheries Commission Rules 15A NCAC 03H .0103, 03L .0101 and .0202.

B. It is unlawful to violate the provisions of any proclamation issued by the Fisheries Director under his delegated authority pursuant to N.C. Marine Fisheries Commission Rule 15A NCAC 03H .0103.

C. All shellfish leases and franchises will remain closed to trawling as per N.C. Marine Fisheries Commission Rule 15A NCAC 030 .0211.
