(42) STUMP SOUND AREA (Map 42)

(a) Spicer Bay / Kings Creek — All those waters in Spicer Bay bordered on the northwest by a straight line beginning at a point 34° 28.8745’ N -77° 29.1142’ W on the north shore; running southwesterly to a point 34° 28.7056’ N -77° 29.2413’ W on the south shore of the bay near the ICWW.

(b) Old Settlers Canals — All those waters bounded on the east by a line beginning at a point 34° 27.4052’ N -77° 31.0319’ W on the west shore of the creek; running southeasterly to a point 34° 27.3702’ N -77° 30.9250’ W; running southwesterly to a point 34° 27.2576’ N -77° 31.0360’ W; running southeasterly parallel to the shoreline to a point 34° 26.9310’ N -77° 30.7761’ W; and bounded on the west by a straight line beginning at a point 34° 26.7422’ N -77° 31.4502’ W on the north shore of the creek; running southeasterly to a point 34° 26.7252’ N -77° 31.4191’ W on the south shore of the creek.

(c) All Waters upstream of a line beginning at a point 34° 25.8383’ N -77° 32.9582’ W near Hwy. 210 Bridge at Surf City; running southwesterly to a point 34° 25.7546’ N -77° 33.0069’ W across the Bay.

(d) Rogers Bay — All those waters in Rogers Bay south of a line beginning at a point 34° 29.4441’ N -77° 27.1942’ W on the west shore of the entrance to the bay; running easterly to a point 34° 29.4491’ N -77° 27.1734’ W on the east shore of the entrance to the bay; following the shoreline in a northeasterly direction to a point 34º 29.7037' N -77º 26.5495' W; running easterly to a point 34º 29.7061' N -77º 26.5371' W; following the shoreline in a northeasterly direction to a point 34º 29.9270' N -77º 25.8226' W; running northeasterly to a point 34º 29.9328' N -77º 25.8171' W near the North Topsail Beach High Rise Bridge; to include all of Rogers Bay, and associated mosquito ditches and tributaries.

(e) Turkey Creek — All those waters of Turkey Creek upstream of a straight line beginning at a point 34° 29.3437’ N -77° 28.1585’ W on the west shore; running northeasterly to a point 34° 29.5645’ N -77° 27.7747’ W on the east shore.

(f) All those waters within the most southwestern portion of the banks side of Stump Sound south of a straight line beginning at a point 34º 25.8987' N -77° 32.8859’ W east of the Hwy. 210 Bridge at Surf City; running southeasterly to a point 34º 25.8175' N -77º 32.6189' W on the point of marsh; running northeasterly to a point 34º 25.8545' N -77º 32.5496' N on the shore of the peninsula, to include the waters near the marina formerly named Beach House Marina.

(g) Batts Mill Creek — All those waters of Batts Mill Creek beginning at a point 34° 27.5679’ N -77° 31.7831’ W on the shore north of the creek; running southerly to a point 34° 27.3324’ N -77° 31.8462’ W; running westerly to a point 34° 27.2930’ N -77° 32.1528’ W on the shore south of the creek.

(h) Sears Landing Area — All those waters northeast of a straight line beginning at a point 34° 25.9756’ N -77° 33.2248’ W on the north shore of Topsail Sound adjacent to a mainland area southwest of Hwy. 210 near the Surf City Bridge; running southeasterly to a point 34° 25.9000’ N -77° 33.0138’ W near the northern entrance to the Surf City Bridge.

(i) Waters Bay — All those waters within Waters Bay between Goat Island and the mainland, bordered on the northeast by a straight line beginning at a point 34 26.3452’ N -77 32.8068’ W on the north shore; running southerly to a point 34 26.2367’ N -77 32.7632’ W on the northeast tip of Goat Island; bordered on the southwest by a straight line beginning at a point 34 25.9688 ‘ N -77 32.9650’ W on the southwest point of Goat Island; running southerly to a point 34 25.9213’ N -77 32.9805’ W just north of the Hwy. 210 Bridge at Surf City.
