PROCLAMATION
RE: SHELLFISH POLLUTED AREA
Dr. Louis B. Daniel III, Director, Division of Marine Fisheries, upon the recommendation of Robin Cummings, M.D., Acting State Health Director, Department of Health and Human Services, hereby announces that the following changes in shellfish harvesting areas will take effect at sunrise, Saturday, January 31, 2015.
All those waters in Brunswick, Onslow, and Carteret Counties will return to the status in existence immediately prior to the December 25, 2014, and January 24, 2015, temporary closures, except the following which will remain closed:
BRUNSWICK / ONSLOW / CARTERET COUNTIES
All those waters between Southport and IWW Beacon “89”, to include Shallotte River and Lockwoods Folly River.
All those waters within 100 yards from the dredge spoils effluent pipe near Bald Head Island located approximately 200 yards north of the mouth of Bald Head Creek.
All those waters between IWW Beacon “43” and a straight line from Swan Point through IWW Channel Marker #4 to the eastern tip of West Onslow Beach, (south shore of New River Inlet), to include all of Kings Creek, Spicer Bay, Everett Bay, Turkey Creek, Alligator Bay, and Chadwick Bay.
All those waters from the Intracoastal Waterway to the mainland between the Onslow Beach Bridge and IWW Beacon “49” at Swansboro, to include Freeman Creek, Bear Creek, and Queens Creek.
White Oak River - All those waters in White Oak River upstream of the Highway 24 Bridge at Swansboro.
Newport River - All those waters in Newport River upstream of the Highway 70 High-rise Bridge and Morehead-Beaufort Causeway, to include all tributaries and Core Creek.
