PROCLAMATION
RE: SHELLFISH POLLUTED AREA
Braxton Davis, Director, Division of Marine Fisheries, upon the recommendation of Randall Williams, M.D., State Health Director, Department of Health and Human Services, hereby announces that the following changes in shellfish harvesting area will take effect at sunrise, Saturday, October 1, 2016.
All those waters in Carteret County will return to the status in existence immediately prior to the September 3, September 13, and September 20, 2016, temporary closures except the following which remains closed:
CARTERET COUNTY
White Oak River - All those waters in the White Oak River north of a line beginning at a point 34° 41.9497' N -77° 06.9846' W on the west shore, running easterly near the northern tip of Jones Island, to a point 34° 41.9395'N -77°05.6599'W on the east shore.
Newport River - All those waters in Newport River upstream of the Highway 70 High Rise Bridge and Morehead-Beaufort Causeway, to include all tributaries and Core Creek.
Jarrett Bay - All those waters in Jarrett Bay upstream of a line beginning at a point on the east shore of Spit Bay; thence in a straight line to the northern tip of Davis Island; then in a straight line to the "Chimney" near Jump Run Creek.
Oyster Creek - All those waters in Oyster Creek upstream of a straight line across the mouth.
The following also remains closed:
BRUNSWICK / NEW HANOVER / PENDER / ONSLOW / HYDE COUNTIES
All those waters between IWW Beacon "84" and the South Carolina Line, to include the Tubbs Inlet area.
All those waters between IWW Fl. Beacon “51A” near the Holden Beach Bridge and IWW Fl. Beacon “71A” near Long Point.
All those waters from the Intracoastal Waterway to the mainland from the Figure 8 Island Bridge to the permanent closure line at Wrightsville Beach.
All those waters bordered on the northeast by the North Topsail Beach High-rise Bridge; and bordered on the southwest by a line beginning at a point on the mainland at Forest Sound Marina, running southerly through IWW Beacon “98A” and following the eastern shore of Black Mud Channel to the southern tip of Topsail Beach, to include Old Topsail Creek, Virginia Creek, Becky’s Creek, a portion of Topsail Sound, and Stump Sound.
All those waters, from the IWW to the mainland, between IWW Beacon “47”, near Swansboro, and the Turn Marker at Cow Channel, to include Queens Creek.

All those waters in Germantown Bay upstream of a line beginning at Spencer Point, running southeasterly to Short Point.
