RE: RED DRUM - COMMERCIAL AND RECREATIONAL FISHING OPERATONS
Dr. Louis B. Daniel III, Director, Director, Division of Marine Fisheries, hereby announces that effective at 12:01 A.M., Thursday, May 14, 2015, the following restrictions implemented by proclamation FF-40-2001 are rescinded:
I. GEAR RESTRICTIONS
It is unlawful to take or possess red drum taken by gigs, gaffs or spears.
II. GENERAL INFORMATION
A. This proclamation is issued under the authority of G.S. 113-182; 113-221(e); 143B-289.52; and N.C. Marine Fisheries Rules 15A NCAC 3H .0103 and 3M .0501.
B. It is unlawful to violate the provisions of any proclamation issued by the Fisheries Director under his delegated authority per 15A NCAC 3H .0103.
C. The intent of this proclamation is to rescind proclamation FF-40-2001 in order to manage the red drum fishery in accordance with N.C. Marine Fisheries Commission Rule 15A NCAC 03M .0501.
D. In accordance with N.C. General Statute 113-221.1(c) All persons who may be affected by proclamations issued by the Fisheries Director are under a duty to keep themselves informed of current proclamations.

F. FF-40-2001 is being rescinded effective 12:01 A.M., Thursday, May 14, 2015 in order to manage the red drum fishery in accordance with N.C. Marine Fisheries Commission Rule 15A NCAC 03M .0501. This proclamation is being rescinded in a division effort to update proclamation information.
