PROCLAMATION

RE: FLOUNDER – COMMERCIAL FISHING OPERATIONS - ATLANTIC OCEAN

Dr. Louis B. Daniel III, Director, Division of Marine Fisheries, hereby announces that effective at 12:01 A.M., Saturday, January 30, 2016, the Atlantic Ocean commercial flounder fishery will open and the following restrictions shall apply:

I. HARVEST PERIOD AND LIMITS

A. During the harvest period beginning at 12:01 A.M., Friday, January 1, 2016 and ending at 6:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 3, 2016, it is unlawful for a commercial fishing operation, regardless of the number of people involved, to land more than 12,500 pounds of flounder taken from the Atlantic Ocean.

B. During the harvest period beginning at 12:01 A.M., Thursday, February 4, 2016 and ending at 6:00 P.M., Thursday, March 3, 2016 it is unlawful for a commercial fishing operation, regardless of the number of people involved, to land more than 10,000 pounds of flounder taken from the Atlantic Ocean.

C. The Atlantic Ocean flounder fishery will close by proclamation once the quota has been reached, or at 6:00 P.M., March 3, 2016, whichever occurs first.
