Public hearing scheduled on proposed
shellfish leases in Pender County

MOREHEAD CITY – The N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries will hold a public hearing on proposed shellfish leases in Pender County at 6 p.m. Jan. 17 at the Surf City Visitor’s Center, 102 North Shore Drive, Surf City.

Falling Tide Farms, LLC (Keith Walls, agent) of Wilmington has applied to lease 0.69 acres of shellfish bottom in Green Channel.

Elliot Snow Piver, Jr. of Wilmington has applied to lease 0.98 acres of shellfish bottom in Green Channel.

Bradley Newland of Wilmington has applied to lease 0.91 acres of shellfish bottom in Green Channel.

Franz Hueber and David Ollivier of Wilmington have applied to lease 1.12 acres of shellfish bottom and water column in Green Channel.

Maps of the proposed leases, with corresponding lease numbers, can be found here.

The public may comment on the proposed leases at the meeting or in writing. Written comments will be accepted until 5 p.m. Jan. 16 and should be submitted to the N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries, Shellfish Leases, P.O. Box 769, Morehead City, N.C. 28557.

The application file and biologist report for the proposed leases are available for inspection during office hours at the N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries’ Headquarters Office at 3441 Arendell St. in Morehead City.

shellfish leases in Onslow County

MOREHEAD CITY – The N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries will hold a public hearing on proposed shellfish leases in Onslow County at 6 p.m. Jan. 9 at the North Topsail Beach Town Center, 2008 Loggerhead Court, North Topsail Beach.

Sandbar Oyster Company, LLC. (Niels Lindquist, agent) of Morehead City has applied to lease 2.69 acres of water bottom and water column in the New River.

Darrell Miller of Asheboro has applied to lease 9.54 acres of water bottom near Traps Bay in the New River.

Maps of the proposed leases, with corresponding lease numbers, can be found here .

The public may comment on the proposed leases at the meeting or in writing. Written comments will be accepted until 5 p.m. Jan. 8 and should be submitted to the N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries, Shellfish Leases, P.O. Box 769, Morehead City, N.C. 28557.

Public hearing scheduled on proposed shellfish
leases in New Hanover County

MOREHEAD CITY — The N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries will hold a public hearing on proposed shellfish leases in New Hanover County at 6 p.m. Jan. 4 at the N.C. Department of Environmental Quality Regional Office, 127 Cardinal Drive Extension, Wilmington.

Bryan Pearson of Wilmington has applied to lease 1.28 acres of water bottom and water column in Masonboro Sound.

William Burrell of Wilmington has applied to lease 1.92 acres of water bottom and water column in Masonboro Sound.

Jamie Moore of Carolina Beach has applied for two water bottom and water column leases in Masonboro Sound, one 0.88 acres and the other 0.94 acres.

Thomas Cannon of Wilmington has applied to expand his existing of water bottom and water column in Masonboro Sound lease by 2.27 acres.

The public may comment on the proposed leases at the meeting or in writing. Written comments will be accepted until 5 p.m. Jan. 3 and should be submitted to the N.C. Division of Marine Fisheries, Shellfish Leases, P.O. Box 769, Morehead City, N.C. 28557.
