  Crushed stone (aggregate)
  A mining bench view

A water truck sprays water on broken rock to reduce dust.
Water is regularly sprayed on the broken rock to control dust generated as the rock is being loaded onto the haul trucks (left). The addition of water at this stage provides moisture that helps control dust throughout the whole production process.

The view below shows the elements of an active mining face. The drills are working on the bench above to drill holes for the next day's production blast. Two shovels work in tandem to load haul trucks. A hydraulic rock breaker works to break oversize rock into smaller rocks that can be accepted by the primary crusher. In the photograph below, the dark area was wetted by the water truck to reduce dust.
