Buncombe County LiDAR

Macon County Landslide Hazard Mapping spatial data files used to create North Carolina Geological Survey Geologic Hazards Map Series 1 (NCGS GHMS-1) are available upon request. These GIS files are in Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) shapefile and grid formats, and are for experienced GIS users. Contact Dr. Kenneth B. Taylor, kenneth.b.taylor@ncdenr.gov, State Geologist, North Carolina Geological Survey, for more information or to request a copy of these data. An example of a portion of this dataset is the map to the left showing the distribution of mapped landslide deposits (orange-colored polygons) in Macon County, NC.
