GNSS Network System Change
January 23, 2014 7:47 AM
The North Carolina GNSS Real Time Network will have its DNS name (rtn1.ncdenr.org) and IP address (188.8.131.52) changed on the morning of Sunday, January 26, 2014. The change will start around 6:00 AM and should be completed by noon. During the change, the RTN system will not be available for providing real time correction data. After the change is completed, users will have to use either the new DNS name (rtn.nc.gov) or the new IP address (184.108.40.206) to access the RTN system. Using the new DNS name is recommended because users using the DNS name will not have to make a change if the IP address changes in the future. The current DNS name or IP address configured on user equipment will be valid until 6:00 AM on Sunday, January 26, 2014. The other settings configured such as login, password and port will not change. This change is warranted because N.C. Geodetic Survey which manages the network was moved from the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources to the N.C. Department of Public Safety.
Also, anyone who accesses the RTN system Web site at http://rtn2.ncdenr.org for registering new users or downloading GNSS correction data from the Reference Data Shop will have to use http://rtnweb.nc.gov after the change mentioned above is completed.
