The Jordan Rules require the N.C. Division of Water Resources to conduct monitoring in Jordan Lake and to report results “until such time as the lake is no longer impaired by nutrient pollution.” Potential future existing development requirements are dependent on the monitoring results.
The division's Intensive Survey Unit began monitoring Jordan Lake in the summer of 2009. Links to reports and monitoring data for 2009, 2010 and 2011 may be found here.
Results of Jordan Lake monitoring will be reported on the division website annually. Please note that these reports are not a substitute for the Environmental Review Commission reporting requirements detailed in S.L. 2009-216.
