Statewide Stream & Wetland and Riparian Buffer ILF Customer Types
The Ecosystem Enhancement Program is designed to provide a consistent and streamlined approach to facilitating both environmental protection and economic development in North Carolina. EEP accomplishes these goals by assisting public- and private-sector entities or individuals in meeting statewide compensatory mitigation requirements to satisfy state and federal clean-water regulations. The use of EEP is voluntary. EEP is a receipt-based program and makes customer service a high priority.
The chart above shows a summary of the number and types of customers who have used the EEP Statewide Stream & Wetland ILF Program and Riparian Buffer Mitigation Program to mitigate for impacts from development projects. EEP has assisted over 1,700 development projects in this program since inception. The payment data is provided in the Excel files below.
