IMPROVING FINANCIAL DATA SHARINGOverview & Purposes | Objectives | Phases I & II | Potential Issues & Outcomes
Objective:Since its inception, EEP has provided mitigation to private developers and local, state, and federal governments for more than 1,000 development projects in North Carolina. In doing so, EEP has implemented and manages more than 500 mitigation sites or projects across the state. Payments collected and costs associated with implementing these projects provide the basis for establishing program fees. Significant interest exists in how the program’s fees are established, what customers the program has served, the costs of specific mitigation projects and the program’s overall financial standing. The objective of this initiative was to develop a website interface where interested parties can view, download and analyze financial information related to EEP, as well as financial information specific to each of EEP’s four major mitigation initiatives and to specific mitigation projects. EEP implemented this effort in two phases. The first phase enhanced the previous EEP website with specific financial information on customer receipts and contracting awards. The second phase involved the development of the current interactive website. |
