A new home for EEP

On Monday, Feb. 27, 2012, the N.C. Ecosystem Enhancement Program will open its new offices at 116 West Jones Street in downtown Raleigh.  The move fits in with the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources’ decision to locate all of its Raleigh staff in the downtown area, including its new headquarters building at 217 West Jones Street and the Archdale Building at 512 North Salisbury Street.

ACCESS: EEP’s new location is in the N.C. Department of Administration Building, which sits diagonally across West Jones Street from the new NCDENR building.  EEP’s building stands on the block bordered by West Jones, South McDowell, West Lane and North Salisbury streets.

Visitors to EEP may access the building only through the West Jones Street entrance at the first-floor security desk (photo ID required).  Visitors not holding a state-employee ID will be asked to pass through a metal detector at the entrance.  EEP’s administrative office is located on the ground floor of the building in Suite G 00 L, which is down the hall to the left from the snack bar after exiting the elevator.

PARKING: Short-term parking may be found in metered or non-metered spaces on adjacent streets.  Long-term parking is available at most times in two nearby locations:
  • State Government Visitor Parking Lot #2, located on the right side of North Salisbury Street between Peace Street and West Lane Street, one block north of the Administration Building.  The lot also can be entered from South McDowell Street just past West Lane Street.
  • Visitor Parking Lot #3 can be found one block south of the Administration Building, with an entrance on Edenton Street at McDowell Street.
Note: These garages may not be available when the N.C. General Assembly is in session.  Parking fees are free for 15 minutes or less, and $2 per hour for longer stays.

CONTACT INFORMATION: EEP’s mailing address (1652 Mail Service Center, Raleigh, N.C. 27699-1652) and main phone number (919-715-0476) will remain unchanged, as will individual staff phone numbers (see staff contact list).
