EEP Plan Review Engineer Wyatt L. Brown today received the Order of the Long Leaf Pine, awarded by the governor for outstanding service to the state of North Carolina. At a retirement party at EEP's office in Raleigh, NCDENR Assistant Secretary for Natural Resources David Knight made the presentation.
"By joining the Order of the Long Leaf Pine today, Wyatt joins a select company that includes names you may have heard of: William Friday, Billy Graham, Andy Griffith and Michael Jordan, to name a few," Knight said. "But it also includes state employees who have given their careers to public service and the greater good, which is certainly the case with Wyatt."
Brown announced his retirement last month after 34 years of dedicated service to the state of North Carolina, including nine years with EEP. He also received certificates of service from both the state and NCDENR at today's event.
