Success in Watershed Planning

Thanks to partners across the state, more than $41 million in funding has been awarded in NC Ecosystem Enhancement Program (EEP) local watershed plan (LWP) areas to date.  Funding incorporates federal, state, and local government funding as well as that from private and non-profit entities.  In addition to projects implemented by partners, EEP has implemented mitigation projects totaling over 113 miles of stream and 1,000 acres of wetland with a mitigation value of over $147 million  in LWP areas.  Through these successful collaborative efforts, EEP and partners are helping to restore, enhance and protect local watershed resources across the state.
