Other recycling opportunities provided by electric cooperativesBlue Ridge EMC partners with Watauga County to fund the county’s CFL recycling efforts. Cape Hatteras Electric Cooperative partners with Dare County Solid Waste to provide a collection point for all fluorescent lamps at the Buxton recycling center. Roanoke Electric Cooperative provides a recycling bucket at Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church (per its request) for its members to conveniently dispose of CFLs. Roanoke also works closely with ACE Hardware in Ahoskie, where a recycling bucket is located. This service is free to anyone in the community. |
