DEAO's Environmental Assistance Center has staff in DENR's Raleigh Regional Office to serve citizens and businesses throughout the central counties of North Carolina. Along with environmental assistance coordinators in our other regional offices, DEAO staff cover the entire state and are available to help with your environmental concerns or questions.
- Offers a single point of contact, as a customer service liaison, to address customer service issues, complaints and information requests (e.g., obtaining information relative to existing NC DENR permits);
- Provides assistance to guide applicants through the permitting system;
- Arranges pre-application meetings to outline potential permits, processes, timelines and expectations; and
- Assists customers in obtaining the answers to regulatory questions, explains permit and regulatory requirements; receives and ensures resolution of environmental complaints and issues.
