Environmental Assistance CenterThe Department of Environment and Natural Resources' new Environmental Assistance Center is a customer-focused program providing technical assistance and guidance through regulatory, permitting and compliance processes as well as help in reducing overall environmental impacts. The Center serves as a single point of contact for our customers and is a liaison between the customer and the regulatory agencies to improve customer satisfaction. Express PermittingThe Express permitting option offers a more timely review of certain environmental permits than the traditional permit review process. It offers quicker decisions on permits and certifications, as well as direct consultation with DENR division staff to identify necessary requirements. Click here for more information. NCDENR Permit HandbookThis permit directory, produced by the N.C. Department of Environment and Natural Resources, centralizes all of the department’s permit information. It is a guide that covers North Carolina’s most commonly required environmental permits, licenses, certifications, approvals, etc. By using this handbook, NCDENR hopes that you can quickly gain an initial understanding of regulatory requirements for various permitted activities.
