Coastal Recreational Fishing License (CRFL) Exemption Permit
What Activities Require This Permit? Individuals or organizations seeking exemption from the coastal recreational fishing license requirements may apply for a Coastal Recreational Fishing License (CRFL) Exemption Permit. The permit can only be issued for an event held solely for participation by individuals with physical/mental limitations, military appreciation, educational purposes and disadvantaged youth.
What Is The Purpose of This Permit? To allow individuals and organizations serving certain groups the ability to conduct recreational fishing events without each participant obtaining a CRFL.

How Much Will This Permit Cost? No cost.
Where Can I Get The Application For This Permit? Contact the Division of Marine Fisheries license sales office in Morehead City: http://www.ncdmf.net/license/sales.htm.
How Long Will It Take To Review My Application? There is a brief review period by staff, and the permit can be issued within 15 days of the date received. Applications must be submitted 30 days prior to the event.

How Long Is My Permit or License or Certificate Valid? Some permits are valid for fishing events only and some could be valid up to one year.
