OCPCA Program ReportsSeveral of our programs are mandated to write detailed reports on an annual or biennial basis that provide information about ongoing work and goals for next steps. Conservation Easements Annual ReportThe Department of Environment and Natural Resources reports to the Environmental Review Commission each year on the Conservation Easements Program. Annual reports are available here. Coastal Habitat Protection Plan Annual ReportThe Coastal Resources, Environmental Management, and Marine Fisheries commissions report by Sept. 1 each year to the Joint Legislative Commission on Seafood and Aquaculture and the Environmental Review Commission on their progress in implementing the Coastal Habitat Protection Plan. Natural Heritage Program Biennial ReportAs directed by the North Carolina Nature Preserves Act (GS 113A-164.1-.11), the North Carolina Natural Heritage Program submits a report to the Governor and the General Assembly by February 15 of odd-numbered years. Program activities are summarized in this report under the three major program areas of NCNHP: Information Services, Inventory, and Conservation Planning and Protection. Biennial reports are available here. DENR Strategic Energy PlanState Agencies are required to reduce energy consumption per gross square foot by 20 percent by 2010 and 30 percent by 2015 based on the 2003-2004 fiscal year. Since 2010, DENR has met this initial 20% reduction goal, reducing consumption of electricity and fuel 20% from the FY 2003-2004 baseline. The department continues to work toward the 30% goal. Albemarle-Pamlico National Estuary Partnership ReportsAPNEP routinely funds research and policy studies and maintains a repository of more than 100 reports on its website. Major reports and program documents include the Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan, the 2012 Albemarle-Pamlico Ecosystem Assessment, and its Climate Ready Estuaries Report. Million Acres Annual ReportEach year through 2010, the secretary of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources submits a report to the governor and the Environmental Management Commission. The document detailed the status of the Million Acre Initiative, reports on protected acres and offers a strategy for the future. Annual reports are available here. |
