Scott Kucera
joined the division  Oct. 11 as the reserve education coordinator in the Beaufort reserve office. Scott has a strong background in public education development, implementation and administration. He worked with Carolina Ocean Studies and the N.C. Maritime Museum developing and leading estuarine programs. Scott comes to us from the Ocean Isle Foundation, Inc. where he served as executive director of the Museum of Coastal Carolina and Ingram Planetarium handling the administrative duties of running facilities and staff and supervising educational activities.  Scott has a bachelor’s degree in Physics/Psychology from East Carolina and a master’s degree in Environmental Science and Engineering from UNC-Chapel Hill.

Washington field representativeKelly Spivey and his wife, Jennifer, welcomed twin boys, Graham and Layton, on Oct. 5.
