N.C. Coastal Resources Commission Invites Stakeholders to Discuss Sandbag Rules Sept. 15 in Beaufort

RALEIGH – The N.C. Coastal Resources Commission’s sandbag stakeholder workshop has been rescheduled for 10 a.m. Sept. 15 at the NOAA/NCNERR Auditorium located at 101 Pivers Island Road, Beaufort. 

The workshop had been postponed due to Hurricane Earl.

The CRC has invited several coastal North Carolina stakeholders to participate in the workshop. The workshop will be used to discuss the status of rules governing sandbag use on the oceanfront and gather input on options for the future of the commission’s sandbag rules.

Invited stakeholders include representatives from coastal communities with a large number of sandbag structures, environmental groups and other interested parties.
