PUBLIC SCIENCE SYMPOSIUM ON BEACH NOURISHMENT TO BE HELD IN BEAUFORT NOV. 10

BEAUFORT, N.C. – The Marine Science Education Partnership will host a public science symposium on local beach nourishment projects and research activities on Nov. 10 from 10 a.m. until 3 p.m. in the auditorium of the NOAA/NCNERR Administration Building on Pivers Island in Beaufort. The program is free and open to the public, but registration is requested. 

Guest Speakers include Dr. Orrin Pilkey, Duke University; Dr. Charles Peterson, UNC Institute of Marine Science; Dr. Antonio Rodriguez, UNC Institute of Marine Science; and Greg Rudolph, Carteret County Shore Protection Office.

For further information about the symposium or to register to attend, contact Amy Sauls, education specialist with the North Carolina Coastal Reserve Program, at (252) 838-0881 or e-mail her at amy.sauls@ncmail.net. The North Carolina Coastal Reserve Program will provide lunch for all registered participants. Registration for this event will end Nov. 5.

The Marine Science Education Partnership isa coalition of directors of marine science institutions and agencies, and other leaders in Carteret County whose goal is to use science, technology and education to enhance the climate for marine-related businesses and industry.
