Coastal Resources Commission will meet at 10 a.m. June 24 at the NOAA/NCNERR Administration Building, 101 Pivers Island Road, in Beaufort. The commission will hear a request by the Village of Bald Head Island to issue a declaratory ruling on the appropriate erosion rate factor for the application of the commission’s oceanfront setbacks for the area known as West Beach on Bald Head Island in Brunswick County. The following items are also on the CRC’s agenda: Ocean Policy Steering Committee Recommendations – Staff from the Division of Coastal Management and N.C. Sea Grant will present final recommendations from the Ocean Policy Steering Committee. Update on Inlet Hazard Area Boundaries & Draft Report – DCM staff and the CRC Science Panel Chair will present a suggested update to inlet hazard area boundaries. Amendments to15 NCAC 7H 0.309 Use Standards for Ocean Hazard Areas: Exception – DCM staff will present suggested amendments to this rule that would allow offshore wind facility transmission lines to be placed in the Ocean Erodible setback area. Land Use Plan Amendments and Certifications – Commissioners will consider certification of land use plans for Holden Beach, Ocean Isle Beach and Carteret County; and land use plan amendments for Currituck County and Brunswick County/Belville. Amendments to 15A NCAC 7H .1704-5(a) Temporary Erosion Control Structures – DCM staff will present suggested changes to the general permit for sandbags.
