BUCKRIDGE COASTAL RESERVE SITE REOPENED TO VISITORS

COLUMBIA, N.C. – The Emily and Richardson Preyer Buckridge Coastal Reserve site has been reopened to the public because it is no longer threatened by the Evans Road Fire. The fire began June 1 after a lightning strike near the Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge.

The Buckridge Coastal Reserve is one of 10 components in the N.C. Coastal Reserve, which protects coastal lands and marshes for research, education and compatible traditional uses.
