Eligible access projects include, but are not limited to, land acquisition, construction and improvements to access sites, urban waterfront development, reconstruction of damaged or aging facilities, and offsite parking designated for an existing public access. Types of access sites: Local sites, which consist of pedestrian paths and dune crossovers that lead to the beach or waterfront; Neighborhood sites, which provide parking, dune crossovers and litter receptacles; Regional and multi-regional sites, which are larger and provide parking, restrooms and other facilities; Urban waterfront sites, which establish boardwalk areas, shoreline stabilization, and the placement of pilings for the purpose of public safety and increased access and use of the urban waterfront.
