N.C. Division of Coastal Management offers two information sessions on Masonboro Island wildlife
WILMINGTON – The N.C. Division of Coastal Management’s Coastal Reserve Program will host two upcoming information sessions about wildlife found on the Masonboro Island component of the N.C. National Estuarine Research Reserve.
The sessions will be held from 6-7:30 p.m. April 28 and May 5 in the auditorium of the UNC-Wilmington Center for Marine Science, 5600 Marvin Moss Lane, Wilmington.
On April 28, participants can learn about sea turtles and diamondback terrapins, including the natural history and ecology of these protected reptiles and monitoring and protection efforts at the Masonboro Island Reserve.
On May 5, people can learn about marsh and shore birds on Masonboro Island, including information on research and monitoring efforts. Both sessions will include information for people who would like to volunteer to help with wildlife monitoring programs on the reserve.
