The Division of Air Quality's Outside involvement Committee is a stakeholder group that includes DAQ staff, the regulated community, environmental groups, environmental consultants and attorneys. The group meets quarterly, typically the second Tuesday in February, May, August and November at the DENR Green Square building at 217 W. Jones Street in downtown Raleigh and at various regional locations across the state. Webinar content is also provided for groups and individual stakeholders calling into the meeting. The meetings generally run from 1:30 pm until about 4:30 pm. At the meetings, DAQ staff members provide information to stakeholders regarding recent changes to permitting procedures and issues, upcoming rulemaking, attainment planning, compliance and enforcement, ambient air monitoring and various other issues affecting the division. The forum also provides an opportunity for stakeholders to ask questions of DAQ staff and management with an open flow of information in both directions, creating an interactive opportunity for participants to learn about developing air quality issues in North Carolina.
