APNEP Citizens' Advisory Committee (2006-2012)HistoryAPNEP's Citizens' Advisory Committee (CAC) was established in January 2006. The committee provided community involvement, participation, and support to the Albemarle-Pamlico National Estuary Program on measures to restore and protect the natural resources of the Albemarle-Pamlico region. From 2006 to 2012, the CAC provided advice and support to the APNEP program office, the Policy Board, N.C. DENR and its partners on implementation of the APNEP Comprehensive Conservation and Management Plan (CCMP). The CAC also served as a forum for the exchange of information on issues relevant to the APNEP watershed. Prior to 2006, APNEP was supported by five River Basin Advisory Councils, and members of these councils helped form the initial APNEP advisory committees and policy board. As an APNEP advisory committee, two representatives from the CAC served on the Policy Board, and CAC representatives also consulted with members of the STAC and MAC. BylawsMeetingsThe CAC hosted regular meetings to discuss a variety of topics pertinent to APNEP. In addition to providing guidance and stakeholder engagement, the CAC regularly awarded grants to schools and local communities pending the availability of funds from APNEP. Below are the meeting archives for the CAC.
MembershipWith the advent of Governor's Executive Order #133 (2012), some members of the Citizens Advisory Committee began service with the Implementation Committee. Below is a list of Citizens Advisory Committee members as of November 4th, 2012, the day before the Executive Order went into effect.
