Submerged Aquatic Vegetation (SAV) PartnershipMeetings Members Resources Presentations (Photo Credit: Joe Luczkovich, ECU) Since preliminary discussions among its agency partners began in 2001, APNEP has supported a collaboration among partners that aims to promote the conservation of submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV) along the entire coast of North Carolina and southeastern Virginia. The Partnership has been meeting regularly since 2004 and was formalized through a Memorandum of Agreement in late 2006. Whereas the Partnership’s initial focus was on baseline mapping and monitoring, the Partnership currently addresses other crucial phases of the sustainability cycle as well, including assessment, protection, restoration, and outreach.
